![]() ![]() You can say that this is a fave and it tastes as good as it looks. This is one of their classics and as we looked around we saw literally half the restaurant with the same order. ![]() We got an extra side of mac and cheese too. Karen ordered the Midnight Train which comes with four jumbo chicken wings and a waffle. Of course you cannot go to a chicken and waffles place without getting the chicken and waffles. We take our seat and open up the menu to a world of southern hospitality. The minute you walk in you are greeted by wall to wall pictures of the many celebs that have come in as well as the smell of delicious fried chicken. Lucky for us, Gladys Knight’s was only a walk away from our hotel. After being up at 5:45am and being on a plane for four and a half hours and only eating plane food, you can say that we were pretty hungry. We arrived in Atlanta around 4:30pm and got to our hotel at about 6. You may have better luck with other locations.Gladys Knight’s Chicken and Waffles was actually our first stop in Atlanta and it set the tone for the rest of our trip to the South. Overall, the food was disappointing and I wouldn't recommend this location. I'm not sure if that's normal, but it was unprofessional. It needs to be updated.Īs we were waiting for our food, there were tables that set dirty for at least 30 minutes. One of the ladies restroom stalls was out of order. The back of the restaurant looked like no one cleaned the tables the night before. The waffle was a little crispy on one side. The chicken wings were fresh out of the grease, but lacked flavor. My waitress replaced my food with a waffle that also took forever to come to the table. I sent the smothered chicken back because it was old and covered with gravy over very dry rice. The restaurant wasn't crowded so we were confused on why the food took so long. An hour passed and we finally got our food. ![]() We ordered smothered chicken and chicken and waffles. There were torn seat cushions at several tables. My first impression was the place didn't look like I thought it was going to look. Well, I wished I'd gone to the Atlanta Breakfast Club instead. I will not be eating at this location again. We still left her a tip but, she didn't earn as my as she could've. She acted stunned when I told her but, she agreed to fix our checks. I let her know that the gratuity policy on the wall states gratuity is automatically added to parties of 5 or more and we only had 4. I then informed her that while I stood in line for 30 mins waiting to be seated, I had nothing to do so i looked/read things on their wall. I asked how she calculated everything and she responded telling me that's their new policy. The hostess/waitress had added gratuity to our checks herself. We look at our checks and they are slightly higher than expected. I let the waitress/hostess know that the checks will be in 3 separate transactions. My cousin said the greens and candied yams were tasty. The chicken was way underseasoned (bland□), some parts of the chicken was bruised, the hostess/waitress brought syrup to our table and it was the publix(grocery store) brand. reasons ppl gave while calling out of work). (The waitress/hostess informed us that they were short staffed due to various. The waiter turned out to also be the cook. Wait(I didn't mind that) The hostess turned out to be the waitress as well. So DISAPPOINTED□ DONT believe the hype! There was a 30min.
